    Q. If I have started to dive with another organisation, can I continue with the BSAC?

    - Of course, the BSAC welcomes all divers. It is not unusual to be tempted to try diving while on holiday, and then wish to continue when you return home. Any training or certification which you have already received, will be taken into account.

    Q. How much does it cost to join the Farnworth BSAC?

    - Every one over the age of 14, in reasonable health and can swim over four lengths can try diving with us. We offer a special introduction to diving course which consists of two theory lessons and two practical lessons in the pool. The fee for this is £30.00 and at the end a certificate is awarded. If you then wish to join you will have to complete a diving medical, and pay a normal fee of £100.00 to join BSAC, you will be given further in house training for free, and use of the pool on club nights for swimming. After this initial £100 all you have to pay is £14.00 per month, payable to FSAC. On your 12 months renewal to BSAC, FSAC will pay your membership renewal.

    Q. How much does it cost to be trained?

    - Nothing, but we do ask for £2.00, for the air that you use if you are using club cylinders. If you have brought your own cylinder with air in there is no fee to pay.

    Q. Do instructors get paid?

    - No. Every instructor at the club receives no money for training you. We are a club and we give our time to you voluntary.

    Q. How much does the scuba kit cost?

    - Like all sports equipment can be quite cheap or very dear. To start with a basic minimum of equipment all bought second hand you could be in the water for around £400.

    Q. How much does it cost to go diving in (None Dive Centre) open water?

    - Very little! All you have to pay for is your own expenses/transport costs to the dive site and about £3.00 per dive for air.

    Q. How much does it cost to go diving in Organised Dive Centre, open water?

    - Apart from about £7.50 to £10.00 entrance fee, Very little! All you have to pay for is your own expenses/transport costs and about £3.00 per dive for air
